DJI Matrice 300 RTK

The Matrice 300 RTK (M300) was announced by DJI on 07-05-2020 and began shipping for enterprise customers in Q2020. The M300 features:

  • Advanced dual control, allowing two operators to change between roles in the field

  • IP45 resistance rating [4] Protected against solid objects over 1mm, e.g. wires & nails. [5] Protected against low pressure jets of water from all directions, limited ingress permitted.

  • 6 Directional positional and anti-collision sensors

  • Hot-swappable batteries

  • Battery management and charging case

  • Primary Flight Display (PFD) – integrates real-time flight, obstacle and navigation data with standard telemetry to enhance situation awareness.

  • Built in RTK compatibility

Payloads

The M300 has the capacity for triple payload attachment and was launched simultaneously with the Zenmuse H20 and H20T payloads. These hybrid camera solutions offer multi-sensor capabilities, including zoom, thermal and laser rangefinder. Since launch DJI have released the L1 (lidar) and P1 (photogrammetry) payloads for surveying applications. A collections of powerful 3rd party payloads have also been developed and are available for integration with the M300 system.

  • H20 - 20 MP (23x hybrid zoom)camera, 1500 meter laser range finder and 12 MP wide camera IP44 and has active image stabilization

  • H20T - 20 MP (23x hybrid zoom)camera, 1500 meter laser range finder and 12 MP wide camera. Camera is rated IP44 and has active image stabilization. The camera has a 640 x 520 Radiometric Thermal Camera

  • P1 - 45MP full-frame sensor with interchangeable fixed-focus lenses on a 3-axis stabilized gimbal designed for photogrammetry

  • L1 - LiDAR module, a high accuracy IMU, and a 20 megapixel 1-inch sensor powered visual camera on a 3-axis gimbal

  • SlantRange 4P Series Multispectral Sensor - combines sunlight-calibrated spectral imaging with a precision geospatial system to analyse individual plants and leaves to build statistical models of crop spatial performance and trends. Sensor features include 6 high-resolution spectral bands, band-matched solar irradiance measurements, integrated laser altimeter, and dual-antenna RTK GPS for the most accurate agricultural measurements.

  • U10 Laser Methane Leakage Detector - can identify gas leaks from up to 100 m away, or at a concentration as low as 5ppm.m

  • FLIR Vue® TZ20 - dual thermal zoom payload suited for search and rescue or security applications

  • Sniffer4D V2 Multi-Gas Detection System – multi gas monitoring system, capable of simultaneous detection of up to nine toxic gases

  • Wingsland Z15 Gimbal Spotlight - high luminance, 3-axis stabilized gimbal spotlight which has an operating range of 150 m

  • MP130 LTE-S Loud Speaker - long-range acoustic device (LRAD) which has a maximum volume of 130dB.

  • PTS4 Drop Kit - capable of carrying and dropping four individual payloads with a combined weight of 2.7 kilos

Comparison

Still a reliable workhorse, however has been overshadowed by the new Matrice model.

Smaller, lighter, more portable and cheaper, however lacks safety features and abilities to utilises advanced payloads

Dominant safety features, dual operator capabilities allows EVLOS operations, large range of payloads and best flight times
